Secondary Pentathlon/Relay Championships

The completed Entry Forms, together with the appropriate Entry Fees
(£5.00 per Pentathlete; £8.00 per Relay Team) should be sent to Linda Trotter. Entry Forms should arrive no later than Wednesday, 22 May 2002 but earlier posting would be appreciated. Late entries will not be accepted. If receipt of your entry has not been received by 5 June please contact Linda Trotter. ENTRY REGULATIONS An athlete may compete in the Pentathlon and the Relay, but not in both. Schools may enter three Pentathletes in each age group. Each school may enter two Relay teams per age group. At this stage, schools only need to tick the appropriate box if they wish to enter a Relay Team. Names and dates of birth will be asked for on the day of the Championships. If you do not have four runners in an age group, then schools may run one competitor per relay from the age group below. Athletes may obviously only compete in ONE relay. This is a new rule. Entry fees for each Relay Team are £8.00. Entry fees for each Pentathlete are £5.00. Please make cheques payable to "The Scottish Schools' Athletic Association" or "SSAA". All competing schools are asked to provide a member of staff who is willing to officiate. All schools must name the accompanying adult, who WILL BE ASKED TO OFFICIATE IF NECESSARY. AGE GROUPS Pentathletes Group A - Over 17 Group B - 15-17 Group C - Under 15 Relays Group A - Over 17 Group B - 15-17 Group C - 14-15 Group D - Under 14 All age groups are taken as at 1 September 2002. Pupils must be in Secondary School. PENTATHLON EVENTS Boys - Long Jump, Shot, 200m, 1500m, Sprint Hurdles - U/15 will run 800m rather than 1500m Girls - Long Jump, Shot, High Jump, 800m, Sprint Hurdles There are no qualifiying standards STARTING TIMES Pentathlon - 10.00 am Secondary Relays - 12.30 pm Primary Relays - 1.30 pm Please enclose a stamped addressed 9"x4" envelope for confirmation of entry. |
